Accessibility statement
Last updated 1 November 2026
We want everyone to be able to use this website, including people who use a screen reader, a keyboard, magnification or voice control, and people who are sensitive to movement on screen.
Our aim
This website is designed to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.
What you can do on this website
- Use every page and every tool with a keyboard, with a visible outline showing where you are
- Skip straight to the main content with the "Skip to content" link
- Zoom in up to 400% without text being cut off or the page scrolling sideways
- Use the site on a phone or tablet in either orientation
- Turn off movement: if your device is set to reduce motion, animations on this site switch off
- Read text with enough contrast against its background
- Use the interactive tools with a screen reader, as their controls and results are labelled
How we tested it
On 1 November 2026 we checked every page with the axe automated accessibility checker against WCAG 2.2 A and AA, on desktop and mobile screen sizes, and fixed the issues it found. We also checked keyboard use, reduced motion and layouts down to 320 pixels wide.
Automated checks cannot find every problem, so we will keep reviewing the site as we add to it.
Known limitations
- Some links take you to other websites, such as GOV.UK, CQC and Ofsted. We are not responsible for how accessible those sites are.
- Our illustrations are decorative and are hidden from screen readers, except where a picture adds meaning, when it has a text description.
